The birth of the concept of formation (bildung) in German mysticism
Keywords:
Bildung, Eckehart, Formation, Imago dei, German Mysticism.Abstract
This article focuses its interest on envisioning the term formation, so used in the pedagogical field, inheritance of the German concept bildung, a word forged during the time of German mysticism to explain the idea of man as a divine image (imago dei), especially at the level potential, as proposed by Meister Eckehart, whose two key sermons: Quasi stella matutina and the Treaty of the Noble Man, are the central axes of the hermeneutical approach of this writing to propose possible understandings of the concept from an educational perspective. It is necessary to highlight the duty of education to seek comprehensive training that in turn becomes a true edification of the person, placing itself beyond the transmission of culture to take care of the integral human being, in order to achieve its ultimate goal and well-being in the cosmos where it lives
