Reading and writing in the discipline: an introduction to the characterization of articles scientific medicine and dentistry

Today the college student begins his studies deprogrammed own discursive practices of the disciplinary field which aims to be part of. School teaching focuses, in general, to build a knowledge about science. Hence the approach to the discursive genres in years of schooling, is almost nil. Therefore the university is responsible for allowing the student and professional future "enter" to the academic community. In this research, and within the framework of academic literacy in higher education, we try to find ways to reorient the pedagogical practice of the subjects of the discipline and the subject of communication skills in the university context. This paper also contextualizes textual linguistics with Van Dijk, Daniel Cassany, and approaches Mireya Cisneros (& others) as to the inferential reading in the analysis of the proposed work. This paper presents the results of a series of didactic sequences designed to recognize and analyze the structure of abstracts of scientific articles, how abstracting also applying macrorules Van Dijk in articles. The research was conducted specifically in medicine and dentistry programs during the academic period 02-2013 and 01-2014 respectively, in the subject of communication skills in Levels I and II of the University Corporation Rafael Nunez. The sample was formed of 206 students of medicine and dentistry, it semesters II and III coursing this subject.
