Characterizacion of the craftswomen of the Agricultural Association of Fiqueros del resguado de Yascual-Nariño

The paper is derived from the project “Methodological route for the creation of hand-woven handicrafts based on fique directed to the women of the Yascual-Túquerres reservation” carried out in the year 2024. The purpose of the research is to characterize the craftswomen of products made with fique of the Agricultural Association of farmers of the Yascual - Nariño reservation. The methodology used was the quantitative approach, positivist paradigm, descriptive-analytical type of research, empirical-analytical method, population and sample of 14 craftswomen to whom a survey was applied. The main result is that the star product most frequently produced by the artisans are bags or backpacks, which is a strength for the Association, since it can be used to improve its presence in the market, promote collaboration and training, and diversify its product offer. The most relevant conclusion is that the artisans have the knowledge for the elaboration of handicrafts, but they need more training to improve the technique and finish so that they can be more competitive in commercial activities.
