Programs of financial education in the higher education: an analysis of the literature in scopus

The present article analyzes the current tendencies in the implementation of programs of financial education in the Higher Education, through a documental revision in the database Scopus. The financial education has become an essential component in the university, given formation the more and more complex global financial environment. This study identifies the main challenges that face the educational institutions, as the necessity of to adapt the programs to a diverse student population and to overcome budgetary limitations. Also, they stand out the pedagogic innovations, including the use of digital technologies to improve the teaching and the learning of financial concepts. The results of the analysis underline the importance of an inclusive focus and based on evidences to guarantee the effectiveness of these programs that not alone they look for to impart theoretical knowledge, but also to develop applicable practical abilities in the daily life and the students' professional. The article concludes with recommendations to improve the implementation and effectiveness of the programs of financial education in the Higher Education.
