Abstract

This paper details the results of a qualitative investigation developed under the case study methodology, applied to an Urban Agriculture program with population from the base of the pyramid developed by an NGO. The program seeks to improve the food, environmental and economic conditions of the beneficiary families through a comprehensively developed scheme and serve as a reference for the improvement of social strategies aimed at improving scourges related to these themes. The results described on this occasion specify the success factors present in the program, the challenges and difficulties, the successes and benefits generated to the beneficiaries and the description of an inclusive business model generated from the strategy applied by the NGO. The study was applied in the city of Cartagena de Indias- Colombia, between the months of July 2017 and June 2018.
