Abstract

The purpose of this article is to measure the small and medium enterprises in the metallurgical subsector of Cartagena in the period 2004-2010 business growth of micro, . For the growth of the sector in the city, employers noted that due to the quality of service and products , and technology acquired by the companies studied . The average net investment assets and annual

growth was 23.06 % and 51.77 % respectively in the last 6 years. Despite the change in the trend of sales in 2010 , the company recorded an average of sales in the order of 23% annual growth. Likewise , we emphasize that the average annual growth in operating profits earned by companies studied was around 39 %. The companies created jobs in ascending order , from 168 employees and workers in the year 2004 to 315 employees in 2010. The average annual growth in the last six years was 11.4 %. It is detected that 83.4% of the companies studied is in the mature stage . And 58.3 % of the managers of the companies studied have a metalworking analyzer attitude.
