In this text stresses that nowadays, Colombian companies are subject to technological, economic, political, social changes, many of them caused by free trade agreements that the Colombian government has signed and intends to sign with several countries; These agreements not only represents a greater competition for them, but also are development opportunities to grow, innovate and become more competitive. The central argument is that to achieve that companies become more competitive, the manager of these companies must use management tools as enterprise diagnosis, in order to recognize exactly how they are now and what obstacles prevent them from getting the expected results.
