The third mission of the universities refers to the set of activities that, related to the traditional missions of education and research, suppose the opening of the University to its environment in order to influence an impact on its economic and social development (Vieira et al., 2010). The University Social Responsibility is a new form of social behavior, a new way of doing and acting based on a more fluid and direct relationship of the University with its social surroundings (Huelva University, 2009).
Both concepts are complementary and overlap although they are not necessarily the same, some differences exist that make the concepts unique.
