This research shows the relationship between the behavior of the General Index of the Stock
Exchange of Colombia with macroeconomic variables such as the nominal exchange rate,
foreign interest rate (prime rate) and interest rate (internal) placement, taking as monthly
reference period January 2003 to March 2012. For this, an econometric model was estimated
by the method of least squares, which contrasts the context and economic theory with the
results, which yielded significant parameters assumed in the explanatory variables.
