Keywords:
Knowledge Management, Competitiveness, Reinsurance CompaniesAbstract
Business knowledge management is currently a key element that differentiates the quality of the services provided by organizations. However, some companies, such as those in the reinsurance sector in Colombia, despite possessing relevant knowledge, sometimes, due to a lack of adequate strategic management of this knowledge, limit their organizational development, which can lead to an inadequate and unbalanced organizational culture. In this context, the purpose of this research is to analyze and interpret the study categories: prevention, mitigation, transfer, acceptance, research and appropriation of knowledge, within the framework of the management carried out by reinsurance organizations in the city of Bogotá, Colombia. The aim was to establish indicators that would make it possible to address the possible effects of reinsurance. The study is framed within a qualitative approach, with a descriptive scope and a case study design. Through the formulation of guidelines for improvement, it was found that the companies in the reinsurance sector selected as units of study have been made aware of the importance and role of adequate knowledge management in business progress and projection.
