Sociodemographic characteristics for the construction of governance in the community "13 de Noviembre" neighborhood, in Medellín, Colombia

The objective of this investigation was to understand the characteristics of a territory from the point of view of the people. From the subjective point of view, it focuses on the subjects, based on their experiences and perceptions regarding the process of implementation of a community technological platform based on the needs, interests and particular conditions of a sample of families that are located in the specific radius of action. From the methodological point of view, a territorial tour, a survey, a social cartography, a focus group and a participant observation were carried out, which allowed the construction of data not only in relation to the characteristics of the population, but also to the perceptions of the people living there in matters related to citizen participation, community processes and their relationship with governance as a territorial development strategy. This characterization allowed us to know aspects related to the general conditions of the population in the sector, their perception of community participation processes and what would be the most important issues to take into account to be included within the community technology platform.
