Creative economy: a strategy to promote tourism in the municipality of Sogamoso, Boyacá - Colombia

The municipality of Sogamoso - Boyacá, despite having different sites of tourist interest and a wide historical and cultural heritage, in recent years has suffered a reduced influx of visitors; a situation that has negatively affected the progress and development of the region. In this sense, this study focuses on interpreting the feelings of the Sogamoseños, facing this problem, and based on it, design a strategy framed in the creative economy as a possible solution to the established needs. As a unit of analysis, 60 people who are directly related to the tourism sector are linked to the investigative process. Methodologically, the research corresponds to a mixed study, oriented from the descriptive method and framed in an action research design. From the characterization of tourism in the municipality, it was found that it is urgent to design strategies aimed at its promotion. Likewise, through the review of the investigative literature, it was possible to show that the creative economy is effective in tourism development, therefore, it is concluded that the linking of this constitutes a fundamental element for the promotion of tourism in the municipality. of Sogamoso, Boyaca - Colombia.
