Financial effect of the Covid-19 quarantine in SMEs footwear sector in Cúcuta

The present paper had as purpose to determine the financial effects caused by covid-19 in SMEs in the footwear sector in order to identify the financial situation in the last three years and also diagnose the changes that entrepreneurs had to face. Subsequently, the population of the footwear sector of the city of Cúcuta was established with 789 entrepreneurs, although it is true the sample was made up of 30 companies in the sector, these being 3.8% of the population, according to the methodology a study was applied quantitative analysis since a percentage collection and data analysis was carried out to diagnose the financial effects of SMEs in the footwear sector by implementing a survey which was based on 15 items and divided into two dimensions, the first dimension about the company and the Second, the financial dimension, as a result of the research, it should be noted that in the first dimension, the age of the surveyed companies is more than 5 years, which corresponds to 46.7%, in the same way, it is one of the sectors that generates the most employment. It is also executed that 70% of the companies are not affiliated with any union established in the north of Santander, in addition, in the second dimension, the results obtained 33% of the entrepreneurs opted for access to online sales, they also stopped making contributions to the security system with 50% also announced that they did not receive aid from both the government and the union. To conclude, the footwear sector has been one of the worst hit sectors before and during the pandemic.
