How interdisciplinary are research groups that thus self-determine themselves?

Abstract
The objective of the presented work was to analyze papers published by research groups that call themselves interdisciplinary, in order to examine its content and determine if they fulfilled the criteria to constitute interdisciplinary investigations. Through the application of an empirically grounded rubric for the interdisciplinary writing of research articles by three self-appointed interdisciplinary groups that are categorized in the GrupLAC system of the Ministry of Science, Technology and Science (Minciencias) of Colombia, each one of the articles were analyzed. The results of the analysis of the written production of these groups show that interdisciplinary work is not evident in its academic production. Interdisciplinary research groups are important, as they contribute to deepening the understanding of subjects, from disciplinary thoughts, however, it is transcendental that groups hold evaluative processes that account for its interdisciplinary nature.
