Psychosocial factors in nursing school students and their influence on the institutional community

Background: social problems originate with the interaction of the individual and those of internal and external conditions of their culture. Assuming as psychosocial difficulties those psychic or social conditions of the student that configure risk situations that affect health and academic development. Objective. to determine the psychosocial factors of the students of a nursing school in Cartagena and their influence on institutional development. Methods: descriptive-cross-sectional study, in which 187 students participated, selected through a non-probability sampling for convenience. The instrument used was an adjusted survey of psychosocial risk factors in university students applied via online. The data was entered and processed with the functions of Microsoft Excel 2016. Results: the average age of the participants was 21 years (SD + 4.4), the female sex predominated (87.2%). In the psychic dimension, the risk was medium, as in the pedagogical dimension and its factor of independent study, in the psych environmental dimension; the relationships and life expectancy factors are at high risk. Conclusions: the students present alteration in their social and integral development, relating to an inadequate vocational orientation before starting their university training.
