Peer Review Process

The reception of articles for publication in AGLALA is done throughout the year.

An enclosed file with the signature of the principal author should be sent certifying the originality of the article, which has not been nor will be sent to another magazine which also accepts publication form and format of AGLALA Journal.

The manuscripts received undergo an internal review process in order to identify if they meet the topic of the magazine, standards of academic quality and originality.

Subsequently, the article goes into a review process where items are subjected to a double blind arbitration by national and international peers (both assessors and authors remain anonymous), who receive a copy of the work and the arbitration protocol of the journal.

The evaluation process takes into account aspects such as: originality of content and significant contributions in the field of study; theoretical foundation; accuracy, clarity and coherence of the objectives, hypotheses, methodology and conclusions; relevance and quality of the sources.

The outcome of the assessment will depend on whether the Editorial Board of the magazine declares that the article is publishable, it requests that the author makes any changes or it is rejected.

The decision peer evaluators can provide three scenarios:

• Publishable Article

• Acceptance for correction or adjustment

• Rejection

If the first scenario, the peer emits a publication concept in the version presented; in the second, some recommendations to help strengthen the text and its publication is conditioned; in the third, the peer indicates the reasons for its decision prompting the author to continue making improvements to his text, although individually, in order to be eligible in future calls. Given these considerations, the editorial committee will inform the authors of the decision. In any case, the comments of the arbitration process will be informed to the authors.

Notification to the author of the review report with the relevant decision (publishable article, correction or adjustments acceptance or rejection) is set to a maximum period of six months after the article is received. Once the evaluation process is exhausted, the process of copyediting and layout begins. The draft will be sent to the author in PDF format, and must be returned within a maximum period of one week, with the respective corrections and final approval of the document.

The overall evaluation process usually takes about six months. Upon acceptance of the article, the final publication can usually take up to three more months.
