The article aims to understand and highlight the current situation of rural women and the role their families and communities play in the socio-economic growth of the region. The selected study area was the municipalities of Tibacuy and Pasca, located in the Province of Sumapaz, with the highest percentage of extension in rural areas, agricultural economic activity, and food pantries in the region. Mixed approach. Type of descriptive research. Intentional sample of women with economic activity linked to the agricultural sector, aged between 18 and 70 years, with the will, interest and availability to participate in the project, obtaining 113 surveys. As a result, it was evidenced in higher percentages that the present schooling is secondary, marital status married and common-law union, with 1 or 4 children, 64% mothers head of household, few with complete basic public services. They are independent and entrepreneurial, combining their activities with the care of their homes and children. They play an exemplary role in society, but they face different limitations, demonstrating remarkable resilience. Interventions aimed at improving access to financial resources, training, and business formalization could significantly enhance their entrepreneurship and economic autonomy.
