The objective of this research was the socioeconomic characterization of vulnerable households in communes 3 and 10 of San Juan de Pasto, these communities were taken from two fronts, the heads of household and the business units. This research includes a social, economic and occupational characterization of the heads of household, in addition to the financial characterization of the business units. The communes were selected for social and cultural difficulties, vulnerable, diverse or displaced population, psychosocial risk, poverty, crime, among others. The socioeconomic characterization of these households will allow us to understand the particular situations of each population, their limitations and risks, helping to provide information for possible future interventions that help improve the quality of life of these households. The research has a descriptive quantitative approach, a survey collection instrument. Through DANE, the total population of each commune was established, subsequently it was filtered by productive ages and heads of households, finding a sample of heads of households for commune 3 of 368 people and commune 10 of 369 people. For the business units, the companies registered and renewed in the last three years were taken as the total population according to the Chamber of Commerce, showing 77 companies - commune 3 and 83 companies commune 10. As main results, we can conclude the increase in the participation of women as heads of household, between 40% and 46% of the income obtained by heads of households comes from employee activities and a participation between 30% and 40% of heads of household have a temporary job. The business units show that more than 38% of the micro-businesses are not formalized and that they have an average debt of 25%.
