Abstract

Projects management is inside of organizational functions and implies the application of knowledge, abilities, tools, and techniques to achieve the purposes which made projects born. In its sense, this article proposes a set of models that complement the previous ones based on linear programming; these models let to calculate the project slacks, which are indispensables to control project execution.  Through the linear programming, it builts appropriate models to calculate event early times, event late times and project slacks using GAMS. It uses algebraic modeling and let sequential model execution, in that way, it is possible to use previous results of its variables.  It obtains a set of models that, executed sequentially, calculates the project slacks and contributes to developing traditional linear programming models. In conclusion, linear programming continues contributing to project management and, in consequence, to improve the current models will produce benefits as academic as organizational.
