Relación ocupacional del desempeño escolar y videojuegos en estudiantes de 8 a 10 años de edad

Objective. This article shows an analysis between the relationship of school performance and videogames in 8 to 10 years old students from two schools, public and private from the Pamplona city sited in the Norte de Santander. Methods. The analysis is made from the occupational perspective using the occupational questionnaire (OQ), which is a validated instrument and used to international level for evaluate the habits and routines from people. This research involved a sample of 50 third grade students from ages of 8 to 10, because they have a simple routines and a partial dedication in studies, and videogames are directly involved in their formation process changing the environment and the context in a partial way. Results. The results shows a direct low relationship between the good school performance and the videogames using, where the social conditions doesn’t affect the videogames using ways, the substantial differences are in the private school where the double school day imply more dedication in study time, but they have a similar habits in the home activities, reducing the hobbies students time.
