Abstract

Treatment for diastema closure is primarily focused on aesthetic and periodontal health grant. The use of composite resins constitutes an aesthetic and functional choice for the cases where a minimal intervention on healthy tissue is required. A 24-year-old patient presents to the office. When performing intraoral examination, the maxillary right central incisor is observed with a brownish color and there is a noticeable unevenness of the zenith point of the gingival margin between the upper central incisors and a marked diastema between these teeth with irregular incisal edges. The treatment plan proposed was the restoration of the anterior maxilla using light-cured composite resin. The purpose of this event is to describe the steps performed for restoration and whitening using composite resins. The patient responded well to the methods used and satisfactory results were obtained.
