This paper studies the management of innovation in managerial skills implemented in industrial SMEs in the chemical sector of the city of Cartagena, for this, it was necessary to develop a qualitative research with a descriptive approach, in which through a structured survey applied to the seven sample SMEs and by which it was possible to establish the state of innovation within managerial skills. The results yielded clear evidence on innovation in managerial skills, however, the maximum level of the established scale was not reached, so that opportunities for improvement can be identified in these SMEs
