Author Guidelines

Only original and unedited articles are received. This implies that they have not been total or partially published. Manuscripts must be sent in a Word file through the OJS application or to the institutional email of the journal: aglala@curnvirtual.edu.co

The ideas expressed by the authors in their articles are their responsibility and at no time they share the ideology, thought or interpretation of the Journal’s participating committee.

The texts delivered to Aglala Journal must be short research, reflection and revision articles and they must have the following aspects:

1.   The title must be in English and in Spanish, in upper case.

2.   It must contain the names of the authors, studies done, position and institutional affiliation, ORCID ID and email address, which will be placed as a footnote. It is emphasized that authors must have ORCID without fail but will not be taken into account for publication

3.   It must have a summary in English and in Spanish which must not exceed 200 words. Five key words must be included in both languages. They must have a summary in Spanish and English, which should not exceed 200 words. 7 keywords will be included in both languages. The abstract should contain what is presented, in a simple and direct language. This should (and in the same order): (1) establish the objective and scope of the study conducted and presented; (2) describe the methodology; (3) summarize the most important results; and (4) establish the main conclusions. A summary should not contain information or conclusions that are not included in the article, abbreviations should not be used and should not include citations to the literature, except for strict exceptions.

4. This is an example of an acceptable abstract: The objective of the work presented was the determination of the nutritional quality of nougat prepared using soybeans and amaranth (objective). The protein content of the nougat was determined and white laboratory rats were used during their growth, as an experimental animal model to assess the nutritional effect (methodology). The chemical analysis of the nougat showed that both soy and amaranth contain more than 10% protein, while a biological analysis showed that the proteins are of good nutritional quality. This characteristic was also shown in the good development of the animals and the good digestibility values ​​found (results). Based on the results of the study, it is concluded that these nougat could be industrially produced, constituting a good alternative source of proteins of plant origin (conclusion). Note: the words Objective, Methodology, Results and Conclusions (which appear in the abstract) should not be included in the abstract of a paper. They are here just to clarify the example.

5.   In the case of reflexive articles, these will have an introduction, subchapters and conclusions or recommendations and bibliographic references. In case they are articles generated by scientific research project, these must have an introduction, methodology, results, conclusions and discussion and bibliographical references. In the cases of review articles systematize the recent literature and findings in a specific area of knowledge and include at least 50 references. In case of short articles, it begins with an introduction that presents the general topic, the problem or issue and the original preliminary or partial results. It is possible that these items include discussion sections and conclusions. In turn, as an important point, all national authors must have their CVLAC active and updated since without it it can not be taken into account as an author

6.   Articles must be written with one spacing, font Times New Roman, 12 points. They should be written on letter-size paper (21.59 cm x 27.94 cm or 8.5 "x 11"), with margins of 2.54 cm (1 ") in both upper, lower and right margins. The text is written in a single column in Word version.

7.   Send a mini curriculum vitae of the author: full name, date of birth, identification, city and country of birth, last academic title, institution where the author works, position held and title of the research of the Article. Besides, as an important point, all the colombians authors must have the CVLAC ACTIVE AND  UPDATED as without it they cannot be taken into account in the journal.

8.   The bibliography is placed at the end of the article in alphabetical order; the notes will be indicated at the bottom of the page and should be reduced to the essential, references in the text indicate, in parentheses, the name of the author, year of publication and page number if it is a textual citation: (Todorov, 1991, p. 34). The rest of the data will be included in accordance with the rules APA 6th edition.

9.   The photographs, which are proposed to be included in any AGLALA article or text shall be revealed in black and white, if not digital. The photos should have the name of the author and the subject. The same applies for charts, diagrams or any illustrative material, all of them according to the APA 6th Edition rules.

10.   The words and foreign language should be in italics.

11.   Authors should express a written consent of delivery and authorization of the use of the article in Aglala Journal, besides being original and unpublished and can be published in the same. This note of acceptance must have scanned signatures of each of the writers.

12.   The length of articles may vary between 9 and 23 pages including figures and images

13.   The paper must be written to a space

14.   If items do not correspond to the specifications mentioned above, they will not be submitted to arbitration.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • The petition has not been previously published, nor has been submitted to another journal (or has provided an explanation in Comments to the Editor).

  • The file is sent in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word format.

  • Web addresses have been added to the references where possible.
  • The text is single-spaced; the font size is 12 points; Times New Rome italics is used instead of underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures and tables are placed within the text in their proper place and not at the end of everything.
  • If it is being submitted to a section of the journal which is revised by peers, you have to make sure that the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • The text meets the style and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines(s), which can be found in About the Journal.
