Abstract

This paper has a twofold objective: 1) the possible inclusion of entrepreneurship as an input into the productive process, by means of different nonparametric approximations, in an incomplete panel of 51 countries, and to analyze the total productivity of the factors and 2) to determine the factors that explain efficiency. The main results reveal that the entrepreneurship can be considered an input to the productive process. The productivity results confirm a clear process of convergence of the countries analyzed. The freedom of the business index and the human development index are factors that explain efficiency.
