Impactos ambientales derivados del ecoturismo alrededor del mundo

La actividad ecoturística es uno de los tipos de turismo con mayor proyección de crecimiento a nivel mundial debido a los múltiples beneficios que genera en las comunidades en las que se desarrolla. Así, dentro de las estrategias de crecimiento que contemplan diversos países, una de las más significativas corresponde al uso de los recursos y atractivos naturales que tienen las regiones para estimular la visita de turistas nacionales e internacionales. En consecuencia, la presente investigación identificó y clasificó los impactos ambientales, positivos y negativos, generados por las actividades ecoturísticas alrededor del mundo a partir de la revisión de literatura científica. Para el desarrollo de la investigación se tomó como guía orientadora la metodología Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses [PRISMA]. Al respecto, la revisión sistemática comprendió las etapas de identificación, filtración, selección e inclusión de documentos encontrados en la base de datos Scopus. Como resultado, se obtuvo un inventario y clasificación de los impactos bióticos, abióticos [físicos] y socioeconómicos generados por las actividades ecoturísticas en el mundo registrados en la literatura científica. En total se identificaron 70 impactos ambientales ocasionados por el ecoturismo en el mundo. Posteriormente, se pudo establecer que existen diversas afectaciones causadas por las actividades ecoturísticas a nivel mundial, siendo predominantes las de naturaleza socioeconómica en los impactos positivos, y de carácter abiótico y biótico en el caso de los impactos negativos.
