Resumen
El objetivo de este estudio es analizar la literatura académica relacionada con las tendencias en el mercado de los videojuegos sobre las interacciones en redes sociales y la formación de comunidades de marca. Se identifican algunos temas de discusión emergentes en el ámbito de los videojuegos como los deportes electrónicos, los videojuegos en línea y los juegos competitivos de tipo Battle Royale. Estas tendencias han propiciado cambios significativos en las preferencias de los usuarios y ha impulsado un importante crecimiento del mercado; lo que ha traído impactos significativos en la cultura de consumo de la sociedad contemporánea. Se concluye que, como consecuencia de estas innovaciones en el mercado de videojuegos, se han consolidado comunidades alrededor de marcas, productos e intereses específicos. En esa medida, la teoría de las redes sociales constituye un enfoque de análisis pertinente para abordar la acumulación el capital social formado en las comunidades de videojuegos y el valor atribuible a estas conexiones virtuales.
