Retos para los teóricos de las organizaciones en la era entrópica

Resumen

El propósito de esta investigación es analizar el contexto sobre el que progresan las teorías de las organizaciones y develar los retos que supone para la comunidad científica en la actualidad. Para ello, se empleó la técnica de investigación documental, correspondiente a una revisión bibliográfica narrativa y reflexiva. Se encontró que su progreso se enmarca en la escasez de ideas novedosas, consenso acerca de qué y cómo investigar en el campo, así como a condiciones institucionales, normas profesionales, construcción de la identidad de los investigadores y la prevalencia del positivismo en la investigación. Así, los retos para la comunidad investigativa en este periodo entrópico, se centra en la comprensión de las transformaciones provenientes de la cuarta revolución industrial, el trabajo colaborativo y transdisciplinario, y el énfasis en el desarrollo de la dimensión social de la sostenibilidad. Por lo anterior, se concluye que la teoría organizacional requiere reconectarse con problemas críticos sociales que enfrenta el mundo para contribuir más al bienestar humano, a través del cuestionamiento y replanteamiento de las metodologías hasta ahora empleadas, y de los valores y reglas que imprime la comunidad académica a la producción del conocimiento.
