This article shows the results of descriptive - interpretive research, with approximations to the quantitative approach, whose aim was to know whether in English classes at public schools of Cartagena both diverse and integrated contents are used, in accordance with aims orientated towards the integral formation of the students. The results show the predominance of the linguistic contents on communicative, cultural and educational ones, as well as little coherence with aims orientated towards the integral formation of the students.
